CQ:WORDplay – 17th October
The inaugural CQ:WORDplay Festival went very well, and we had a good selection of people coming through the festival doors throughout the day. The authors and poets seemed enthused that they were able to impart some of their own works to the assembled crowds.
The workshops went well and produced some quality work, as well as enthusing young and old alike.
The Independent Publishers’ Book Market was always busy and many a new book was bought. And, there were drama performances from Cloud Nine Theatre Company and Whitley Bay Operatic Society, as well as a last minute change with Gillian Quinn School of Dance presenting a dance piece set to the poetry of John Betjeman and Robert Browning.
