CQ:MEMORIES - “Whitley at War”

whitley bayOnce again, in partnership with Tyne & Wear Archives and Museums, Culture Quarter brings you a ‘memories exhibition’ in the heart of Whitley Bay.

Come along and reminisce about Whitley Bay during the war years. Take the opportunity to tell your children and grandchildren about how you remember Whitley Bay during the two world wars. There will be photographs and memorabilia on display to help you recall those memories.

We also want to hear what people remember of those times - What were the rations like? Were there any special treats? How badly was the coastal area affected by air raids? Where were people evacuated to? How did the Spanish City Dome survive the war?

Your memories can be recorded and put together in an archive for people to refer to in the years to come.

BE PART OF THE NORTH EAST’S HISTORY.
