The Culture Quarter Company (CQ) was set up with a simple ambition, to drive the renaissance of culture and the arts in Whitley Bay, North Tyneside. Everything we do is about ensuring that the community we all live in is a richer one - from the revival of the Whitley Bay Playhouse and Whitley Bay Dome, to inspiring cultural events that engage all of our Town and the wider Borough - and maybe, just maybe, give Whitley Bay back a little of its confidence and pride. Its simply all about Whitley Bay regeneration.

This site is here to ensure that, through The Culture Quarter Company, all North Tyneside residents realise that our Council does have a choice in the management of our public buildings. We hope, through these pages, to give you an insight into our solution and for you to provide direct feedback via our blog topics - so please leave us your opinions on what you want from the Whitley Bay Playhouse and Whitley Bay Dome, how you see the development of Culture in our Borough, what your expectations of North Tyneside Council are, and who you want to see running our public buildings: a community based organisation or a profit led organisation.

As we move on, our aim is to build a wider social network and if anyone interested in linking their site to us, then please feel free to do so - as we will happily do to you. We also aim to allow everyone an input into guiding our strategic direction by allowing every resident of North Tyneside to make suggestions, provide an opinion or get involved with our roll out and this site will be a key part of that ambition.
